The Level Entry is an independent editorial reference on step-free access to everyday places in the United Kingdom. It is written for the person who runs the building and for the person who has to get into it: the village hall, the shop, the surgery, the church, the leisure centre, the pub and the path that leads to the door.
The desk is not a builder, not a supplier and not a law firm. A number that cannot be checked against a published standard or a piece of government guidance is written as unknown rather than guessed.
What a note contains
Each note takes one question about access. The answer opens it. The measurements follow: a gradient as a percentage and as a ratio, a clear width in millimetres, a turning space, the height of a lip, the depth of a landing. Then the sources, named at the end, and the date the note was last checked. A note is rewritten when the standard it cites changes, and the date moves with it.
